The Convergence: Adenowo, Top Nigerian Artists to Showcase Creative Excellence in Lagos
AD Consulting and Ecobank Nigeria have partnered to present The Convergence: The Iconic Architect & the Icons of Art, a cultural exhibition celebrating Nigeria’s artistic excellence, architectural heritage and creative legacy.
The exhibition, scheduled to hold from October 1 to 7, 2026, at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC), Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together internationally acclaimed architect Olajumoke Adenowo and some of Nigeria’s leading visual artists.
The event is designed to explore the relationship between art, architecture and African heritage, while creating opportunities for conversations around cultural identity, ownership and legacy.
Among the artists whose works will feature are Abiodun Olaku, Bunmi Babatunde, Kehinde Adewuyi, Tayo Quaye, Mufu Onifade, Alex Nwokolo, Fidelis Odogwu, Kassi Nathalie, Dotun Popoola, Steve Ekpenisi, Collins Abinoro and Joshua Nmesirionye, among others.
Speaking on the concept behind the exhibition, Adenowo, Founder of AD Consulting, said architecture and art were enduring expressions of a people's identity, capable of preserving heritage and communicating values to future generations.
She described The Convergence as an intentional meeting of architecture, art and people interested in preserving cultural heritage and creating lasting legacies.
“Through NeoHeritage, The Convergence creates a contemporary expression of our heritage while looking confidently towards the future,” she said.
Adenowo explained that the initiative went beyond a conventional exhibition, providing a platform to explore how creative expressions could preserve cultural memory and shape perceptions of identity and beauty.
She said the experience was anchored on her Neo Heritage philosophy, which connects Africa's cultural inheritance with contemporary creative expression.
The philosophy, according to the organisers, is built around three design pillars: Light, Zeitgeist and The 4th Dimension.
Also speaking, Austen Osokpor, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Ecobank Nigeria, said the partnership reflected the bank's commitment to promoting African creativity and creating platforms where culture, enterprise and private wealth could intersect.
Osokpor noted that Africa's wealth extended beyond financial capital to include its culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage, which he said deserved preservation and recognition.
He said the exhibition would bring together artists, architects, collectors and cultural patrons to celebrate Nigerian creativity within the broader African and global cultural landscape.
“For Ecobank, this is more than an event. It is about creating meaningful platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities, while reinforcing our commitment to African excellence,” he said.
The exhibition will open on October 1 with an exclusive Collectors & Patrons evening for invited collectors, patrons, high-net-worth individuals and distinguished guests.
The opening event will feature curated viewing opportunities, conversations with artists and creative leaders, and engagements focused on art, architecture, ownership and cultural stewardship.
The wider exhibition will run from October 2 to 7, allowing a broader audience to experience the featured works and engage with the ideas underpinning the initiative.
Other activities lined up for the programme include a Patron's Preview, a Founders' Cocktail featuring an Architecture Salon by AD Consulting, and a Collectors' Circle.
The organisers said the activities would provide opportunities for private viewings, deeper engagement with participating artists and meaningful connections among collectors, architects and cultural leaders.
Through the initiative, AD Consulting and Ecobank Nigeria aim to position Nigerian art and architecture within wider conversations about African cultural heritage, creative excellence and the preservation of enduring legacies.
