LASU Accounting Department Gets First Female President
Comrade Precious Bankole, an Awori-born student of Lagos State University (LASU), has emerged as the first female President of the Accounting Department.
The announcement was made by the Luminaries team, which conducted both the screening and election exercises and declared the results.
According to the results, Precious Bankole scored 78% and 263 in the election surpassing her closest rivals, Adelowo David Olamide with 58%, 68 in the election and Olamilokun Ibrahim Adedamola with 69%,90 in the election.
In her response, Comrade Bankole expressed her zeal to serve the entire Lagos State University, Accounting Department, having previously served as the Assistant General Secretary of the department and Financial Secretary of the Faculty of Management Science.
She promised to bring about developmental-oriented projects to the department vowing to initiate projects that would enhance the department's growth and reputation.
Precious pledged to lubricate the efforts of lecturers in the department and Faculty of Management Sciences promising to leave a remarkable memory during her tenure assuring her supporters that they would not be disappointed.
The new president expressed her gratitude to the electorates and the Luminaries team for conducting a free, fair, and hitch-free election appreciating the team's doggedness in making the process a success, marking a significant milestone in the history of the Accounting Department and the institution at large .
