20th August, D- day for Isese Day celebration in Ogun state
All efforts are in top gear to kick start Isese day on 20th,August which has seen the light of the day through the assent of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun(MFR) in Ogun State.
The Araba of otta, Dr Fasola Faniyi made this statement during the press conference at Olota palace on Friday saying, "Isese day" will be celebrated as Ileya and Chrismax day of the counterparts.
Faniyi said Isese births other religions which our fore fathers' beliefs entrenched in 'Ifa Olokun asoro dayo' describing Olodumare as epitome of traditionalists.
“We have long yearned for every 20th of August to be set aside for our annual Isese festival, we have written series of letters and press releases to the powers that be, but all were to no avail. We the traditionalists in Ogun state ought to have gotten a day set aside for us since time immemorial but we are appreciating Prince Dapo Abiodun for taking the bold step of doing what his predecessors could not do for us despite all pleas”, Dr Faniyi said.
Faniyi added that before the advent of modern religions Isese was predominantly our way of life with Olodumare answering prayers adding that History will not forget the roles played by all members of the House at ensuring that traditional Practitioners get their own recognition in the state", Fashola added.
Araba of Ota, Dr. Fasola enjoins all Yoruba indigenes both at home and asunder to embrace August 20th as a festival for all with the expectations of its goodies.
