9 Passengers Killed In Abuja Auto Crash

Nine passengers were killed and 10 others injured in a motor accident in the early hours of Sunday at Gada-Biyu on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

A witness said the accident, which happened around 6 am, involved an 18-seater Hiace bus with registration number: KTG 450 KQ, and a trailer.

He said the bus which was coming from the Lokoja axis crashed into the trailer which was parked by the road.

He further said nine passengers died on the spot while 10 others sustained injuries, adding that the corpses had been deposited at the Kwali General Hospital, while the injured were taken to the Abaji General Hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

When contacted, the Abaji Unit Commander of the FRSC, Shehu Abubakar Dogondaji, attributed the accident to speed limit violation.
