Efforts to ensure adequate health care delivery to the people has been intensified at Ado-Odo Ota Local Government as the authority of the Council has teemed up with Covenant University Community Development Impact Initiative Committee (CU-CDIIC) to improve on the existing health centers in the Area. 


The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Hon. Sheriff Musa disclosed this during a meeting with CU-CDIIC at Iju Primary Health Care Cente, Ota on the need to increase developmental projects that would bring succor to the people. 


Appreciating the efforts of Covenant University, for initiating diverse people-oriented projects, the Chairman enumerated the gestures of the students of the university in donating transparent waste bins to the Local Government and a generating set to  Onipanu Division of the Nigeria Police Force in the Council Area, calling it a rear service to hunanity.


The Chairman, said further that the CU-CDIIC has chosen Iju Health Centre for its infrastructural development projects based on its strategic location where primary health care is being delivered to large number of health seekers, describing it as a laudable corporate social responsibility initiative that would boost patronage and health care delivery.


The Director of Covenant University Community Development Impact Initiative Committee, Dr. (Mrs.) Tayo George, highlighted some CU-CDIIC interventions in the past which included donation of sanitizers to the Primary Health Care Centre, Development of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government during COVID-19 surge as well as free medical outreach, adding that the Committee has decided to attend to the infrastructural developments of Iju Primary Health Care Centre of the Council Area.


The Acting Coordinator of the Council's Primary Health Care Department, Mr. Odebode Gbadebo appreciated CU-CDIIC's intervention in health sector, applauding the Council Chairman for his selfless services to the people, coupled with various tours he embarked upon that are now yielding results.


The Chairman and CU-CDIIC Team were later led on assessment of the facilities at the centre after which the Team Leader promised to take the assessment back the management of Covenant University authority for a better work plan on the next projects to be executed within the Health Centre.
